IMPORTANT NOTICE AND CONSENT

This statement tells you how Donnelly Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd, ABN: 12 008 081 178 collects, uses and discloses personal information and what we expect of you.

"Personal information" is such information about an individual, which identifies them and includes an individual who may simply be referred to in the application for cover or claim form (such as an employee, director, claimant, witness etc).

It is important you read, understand and agree to the following, which applies from 21 December 2001 in accordance with new Privacy legislation effective from that date.

What we do

We collect Personal Information to be able to provide our various services to clients.

These services may include:

  • Insurance broking advice, claims management, premium finance, underwriting risks on behalf of Insurers, promotion of all financial services products

Other purposes include:

  • Provide notices required by law and or insurance purposes;
    Conducting market or service satisfaction research;
  • To develop and identify products and services that may interest clients;
  • Promotion of financial services products;
  • To provide necessary information to business partners in relation to the promotion and administration of financial services that we out-source to them.

We disclose personal information to other parties who we believe are necessary to assist us in providing our services, such as providing information to:

  • Insurers, reinsurers, other insurance intermediaries;
  • Loss adjusters, lawyers and accountants, and others involved in the claims handling process such as any claims dispute tribunal;
  • Financial institutions which may require evidence of your insurance coverage;
  • Mailing houses.

We may also provide it to an intending purchaser of our business portfolio.

If the required personal information is not provided, any other involved parties or we may not be able to provide appropriate services to you.

We limit the use and disclosure of any personal information provided by us to other parties to the specific purpose for which we supplied it (except with our, or the individual's expressed consent) and require such information to be kept secure. Other parties shall not use this personal information for any purpose beyond the expiry date of any contract period with them.

What we expect of you

When you provide us with information about other individuals, we rely on you to have obtained their consent that you will or may provide their information to us particularly, which could be of a sensitive nature. Otherwise, you must tell us before you disclose the relevant information. If we provide you personal information, you and your representatives must only use it for the purpose we agreed to.

If you do not notify us otherwise before next dealing with us, you and any relevant representative will be deemed to have confirmed your agreement to the Donnellys privacy policy stated above.
